The Body Bible

Branded Content | 2020

The Challenge
Teen Vogue and The Case for Her asked for content shareable via their owned media, like Instagram, that promotes awareness of the Orgasm Gap. It’s a physical reminder that the predominant socialized attitude does not place importance on female pleasure or sexual wellness.

“Monks were really the CEOs of penis graffiti.”

The Solution

Thousands of years ago, monks scribbled and normalized male genitalia in the marginalia. Now, it’s our turn – and we’ll do it better with The Body Bible. It’s a physical book that’s one part holy scripture and one part manual for owning your body.

The Bible’s text remains virtually unchanged, except for a special emphasis on feminist portions, such as Proverbs 31:31.

The text’s sex-positive hidden marginalia and diagrams can be “decoded” via its own dedicated Instagram profile. Each diagram includes resources to learn more about the Orgasm Gap.

To reach young women who would be especially receptive to Biblical messaging but likely aren’t aware of the Orgasm Gap, TeenVogue created a Pinterest board dedicated to remixed biblical quotes for the modern woman looking for some inspiration.

The Pinterest posts would lead to The Body Bible page hosted on Teen Vogue’s site. It will allow readers to access a digital PDF of the book and more detailed content, like articles and videos, about the Orgasm Gap and how to close it.

Packaging will remind readers to never be ashamed of their bodies and encourage them to share it once they’re done.

By widely distributing physical and digital copies of the Body Bible to Teen Vogue’s audience of 3M*, we’ll destigmatize sexual education and the Orgasm Gap. It'll be almost as commonplace as a nightstand bible.
